Finally Done

Okay.... I am finally done with all my Christmas shopping. I have gotten the teacher gifts done, and my parents/sisters packages are on their way!

I feel so much better and now I can really enjoy Christmas. My goal was to be done this week so I can just relax next week and truly feel Jesus coming. I love this time of year. I love the Christmas spirit. But what I truly love is giving. Giving is my favorite part of Christmas. I enjoy watching someone opening my present.

The gift I receive from giving is much greater then receiving!

Merry Christmas

It's been a while

I have so (too) busy lately. I can not believe how busy this time of year is for us. It seems ever year I tell myself I want t slow down and every year we are so busy. But something made me slow down today and thank God for everything I have been given.

I was buying Christmas stamps for my Christmas cards that have been sitting on my counter since Thanksgiving. I was patiently waiting my turn when the lady in front of me mentioned that she had to get all her packages mailed out now because her house was being torn down. So, the nosey person I am, I start to think of everything it could be.... Then she tells me that water had leaked into her house and after months of complaining to the builder they continued to do very little. Well, her child got a horrible lung infection and while in the hospital they figured it was from mold. The mold in her house is so bad they have to TEAR the ENTIRE house down and rebuild! Can you imagine? Right before the holidays! Her family just moved here from Chicago and they know very little people. I made my purchase and sat in my car and immediately said a prayer for her and her family. Although I don't know her name, I will never forget her story!

I will now slow down and thank the Lord for everything I have. Including the roof over my head!

Not Me! Monday

It's time for Not Me! Monday

I didn't eat so much this weekend that I am having a hard time putting my jeans on today. I would never eat so much in one week....

I would never put Emmy to sleep an half and hour early just because she was wearing me out. And moment I came back downstairs I didn't fix myself a nice glass of wine.

I am not already telling my 4 year old that "Santa is not going to bring you presents if you keep acting like this" And I know she isn't already calling my bluff!

I am not kissing my 4 mth old baby every 2 minutes because I love the way he smells! I would never kiss him that much.

Advent

Today the Advent season starts. I truly love Advent. I love reading the story leading up to Christmas. I try to imagine how Mary felt, how scared she was. But how she gave us the BEST gift of all, her son.

We had a great Thanksgiving. My parents drove in from South Carolina. I have not seen them in a while, so it was nice to catch up. They enjoyed meeting Davis for the first time and reconnecting with the girls. I really enjoyed our visit with them and I was sad to see them leave. Having them here brought so many memories back from when I was a child.

I hope and pray they have a safe drive home!

I love Sundays

I have not posted in awhile. This past week was crazy, so many things going on. I feel the holiday season is now in full swing!

I love Sundays. It is such a peaceful and restful day. I love waking up, going to church and spend the rest of the day with my family! Today we have been invited to go to my in-laws house for some home made pizza. My father in-law makes the BEST pizza. I know I will eat way too much, but that is okay.

I will start my diet after the holidays!

Not Me! Monday

Ok, today is my first time to do Not Me! Monday. We will see how if goes.....

1. During this crazy weekend, I did not secretly wish for the week to start so I can get some rest.

2. While I was at a baby shower yesterday, I did not do the happy dance because Davis was asleep the entire time. I got to visit with my friends in peace and quiet!

3. Instead of washing my laundry like I should have I did not get dirty pants out of the pile and put them on.

4. I did not go to bed dirt and sweaty from my workout because I was too tired to take a shower.

Wonderful Way to Start the Week!

Can you think of anything sweeter then drinking your morning coffee and listening to your baby in swing talk to himself?

I thank God everyday for all of my children, BUT moments like this move me to tears. Just listening to him discover is voice is what life is all about. At times I find myself in such a rush to get things done, make that next appt., or rush off to school. I need to remember to slow down and cherish these precious moments.

Sorry to get sappy. That just what mothers do from time to time!

Is the week over yet?

This week has been very strange for all of us. Not really horrible, BUT not the best. The kids have been unusually grumpy and not satisfied with anything.....Emmy has had a full week of getting into things that are off limits such as my makeup, the pantry (lots of stuff in there), and the dog food bowl. I love her love of life and excitement over the smallest things, but at times I wish she would just slow down. I can't wait until her 2nd birthday and I can put her in some much needed activities to burn that NEVER ending energy. Oh what I would give to have half of her energy. My house would be spotless, home cooked meals every night, and I would have the body I had before 3 children (anyone remember those days?)

I am truly looking forward to going to the Nutcracker Market tomorrow with a few finds. There is nothing better to lift your spirits then shopping without kids, while listening to Christmas music.

Only a parent would laugh

So, my hubby had a dentist appt. at 5:30 this evening. Perfect timing right?? Right in the middle of dinner time... While is away enjoying getting his teeth cleaned. Emmy (my middle child) decided she was going to cry uncontrollably because she had a fork instead of a spoon to eat her dinner. Well, Davis (my baby) then decided to start crying because she was scaring him with her high pitch crying. So, here I am 2 out 3 of my kids are crying and all I can do is laugh. I was laughing so hard! I couldn't stop! Not only was I laughing but Madison (my oldest) started to laugh too. Madison then starts telling the younger ones that this is a "happy day" and NO more "sad day". While she is saying this she has her hands on her hips and talking just like a little mommy (I was so proud). Guess what happens next..... they stopped crying!! Madison did it! She did what her mother couldn't!

I love that little girl!

First post!

Welcome to our family blog. I got this idea from a friend and I though this would be a good way to update our extended family on how we are doing.
